From Fear To Faith On Catholic Answers Live!

Catholic Speaker and Author Gary Zimak on Catholic Answers Live with Patrick Coffin

While on a speaking tour in Southern California last week, I had the pleasure of visiting the headquarters of Catholic Answers Live. In addition to meeting many of the staff members, I got to appear on an episode of Catholic Answers Live with Patrick Coffin. Although I have appeared on the program several times in the past, this was the first time that I was able to do the show live in the studio. We discussed how to move From Fear To Faith and you can listen to the podcast at the following link:

I’m Heading To California…Want To Come Along?

Catholic Speaker Gary Zimak launches his Fall "From Fear To Faith" tour by visiting Southern California

This week is going to be a busy one for me. On Tuesday, September 9, I’ll be traveling to Southern California to officially kick off my Fall “From Fear To Faith” speaking tour. While I’m there, I will speak to two Legatus chapters (Sept 10 and 11) and appear live in studio on the radio program, Catholic Answers Live (Friday Sept 12 at 6 PM Eastern). In addition, I’m currently leading the yearly 33 day preparation for Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary on my daily Following The Truth radio show (I’ve pre-recorded this week’s episodes).

Please keep me in your prayers as I travel to bring the “Good News” of Jesus Christ to a world very much in need of hearing His message. I’ll be documenting my travels on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest. If you’d like to keep track of me, you can follow me by clicking on the appropriate link (or the icons just to the right of this post).

Contact me if you’d like me to speak at your parish or conference. It would be an honor to bring the Lord’s message to your town!

God Bless,
Gary

With God, All Things Are Possible! Here’s Proof…

Catholic speaker, author and homeschooling Dad Gary Zimak discusses the miracles that God has performed in his life.

“Don’t Look Back!”

How many times have you heard that advice? While it makes sense in some cases, looking back can also be beneficial at times. When I look back through the years, I’m amazed at the many miracles that the Lord has worked in my life. He has done the “impossible” more times than I can count. And yet, like many of you, I sometimes forget and begin to panic when faced with a frightening situation.

In this month’s issue of Seton Magazine, our friends at Seton Home Study School were kind enough to let me tell the story of some of the miracles God has performed in the life of the Zimak family. While the article centers on our experience with homeschooling (something my wife and definitely thought was impossible before we tried it), I list many other examples of God’s miraculous intervention in our life.

I hope that reading the article will inspire you to reflect on the many times that He has done the impossible in your life. Furthermore, I hope that you’ll be encouraged to give Him a chance to work future miracles in your life. Whenever you’re tempted to say that something isn’t possible, remember the words of Jesus…

“With God, all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)

Kara Klein – Singing For The Lord!

Catholic Speaker and author Gary Zimak recommends the music of Kara Klein

While I was in Chicago earlier this month for the Catholic Marketing Network trade show, a young lady came to my book signing and introduced herself (see photo). She told me that her name was Kara Klein and that she was a Christian singer/songwriter. I was lucky enough to get one of her sample CDs and told her that I was anxious to listen to it. Being a musician and an all-around music lover, I’m always willing to check out new artists. What I didn’t expect, however, is that I would have a chance to hear Kara sing before I went home. What I also didn’t expect is that, the following evening at Mass, I was literally brought to tears by her beautiful voice.

If you’re looking for a way to grow closer to the Lord through the gift of music, I strongly encourage you to visit Kara’s website and see what she has to offer. You won’t be disappointed!

Frightened By The State Of The World? Here’s A Comforting Thought…

Catholic speaker Gary Zimak offers advice for how to stop worrying about terrorism and the state of the world

Let’s face it…the world can be a scary place. Everywhere we look, we are bombarded with frightening news. Terrorism, war, crime and natural disasters seem to be more common than ever before. As someone who speaks and writes on overcoming worry and stress, I am contacted frequently by individuals who are struggling to overcome their fear of what’s taking place in the world…

What happens when the terrorists start beheading Christians in the United States?

How can we protect ourselves against the threat of tornadoes and earthquakes?

How long will it be until the struggling economy causes my company to close?

What will I do when I can no longer afford health insurance?

Is the world coming to an end?

Adding these fears to the general anxiety caused by sickness, financial issues and the uncertainty of the future can cause us to be overcome with worry. Fortunately, there is a solution to the problem. That solution is to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Walking daily with the Lord is the best remedy for anxiety, bar none! While this relationship can be achieved through prayer, reading Scripture and receiving the Sacraments, sometimes we can lose our focus. What can we do?

I have found that one of the most effective remedies for achieving peace in the midst of the world’s craziness can be found in one simple Bible verse. I recommend that you read it at least once daily and repeat as needed. It’s a reminder that no matter what happens in the world, God is still in charge. No event or terrorist act can ever change that fact. We all have the ability to live forever in Heaven provided we keep our focus on the Lord and follow His commands. That, my friends, is a very comforting thought!

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)

I’m Praying For You!

Catholic speaker and author Gary Zimak offers to pray for your needs

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men. (1 Timothy 2:1)

Recently, I have been receiving many requests for prayers. Through social media, email and verbal communication I’ve been hearing of sick children, unexpected trips to the ER, cancer diagnoses, anxiety and every other ailment imaginable. Whenever I discover that someone is suffering or in need of prayer, I immediately say a prayer and add long term requests to my official prayer list (a book that I carry to daily Mass and adoration). Even though I know that every prayer is effective in some way, I’ve been feeling that I want to do something more. I want you to know that I’m praying so that when you’re sitting in the ER, a doctor’s office or your house, you realize that you’re not alone and that you are being prayed for. In addition, I want to give you a chance to ask for my prayers.

Every day at daily Mass and in my rosary, I remember all those who have asked for my prayers. In addition, each Saturday and Sunday , I pray for these individuals before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Do you need prayers? Would you like to be added to my list? Email me and let me know your needs and I will add you to my official list. In addition, always feel free to contact me on Facebook or Twitter and request prayers.

Please remember that no matter how hopeless a situation looks or how helpless you feel, you can always pray and it will always be effective. Even you might not get exactly what you want or get it as fast as you like, God hears and responds to every prayer. In addition, take comfort in the fact that I’m always willing to pray for you…

You are not alone!

Thank You, Mother Angelica!

Catholic speaker and author Gary Zimak posing next to a portrait of Mother Angelica at EWTN

“She didn?t know exactly where God was leading her that summer of 1944. But she went just the same.” (Raymond Arroyo on Mother Angelica’s decision to enter religious life)

Seventy years ago, on this day, Mother Angelica said “yes” to the Lord and entered religious life. Here’s a nice article written by Raymond Arroyo which tells the story of what happened on August 15, 1944. On behalf of the millions who have been impacted by her decision, I’d like to say “Thank you” to Mother Angelica. Your “yes” has changed our lives forever. Happy 70th anniversary!

Giving God Credit For Your Success

Catholic speaker and author Gary Zimak reminds us to thank God for all that we are able to accomplish

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep. (Psalm 127:1-2)

We live in a world where self-accomplishment is highly regarded. While the Lord absolutely wants us to work hard, everything we do should be done out of love for Him. If we are successful, we should thank God. For without Him, we would not be able to accomplish anything. Pause for a minute and take a breath. That last breath would not have been possible if the Lord didn’t will it.

As you go about your daily duties today, don’t forget to thank God for giving you another day and do everything out of love of Him. Don’t forget to ask Him to help you with your daily work. Although the world may tell you otherwise, admitting that everything you’ve ever accomplished or will accomplish is all due to God isn’t a sign of weakness…

it’s a sign of great wisdom!
