If God Truly Is Almighty, Why Do We Worry?

Catholic speaker and author Gary Zimak with a secret that will help you to stop worrying

I Believe In God, the Father Almighty…

The first few words of the Apostles Creed are very familiar, aren’t they? We pray them at least once each week and many of us pray them every day. Let’s think about something for a minute. If we TRULY believe that God is almighty, that means nothing is impossible for Him, correct? If that is the case, why do we worry about what may or may not happen in our lives today? Could it be that we really don’t believe the words that we pray?

The next time you’re tempted to worry, repeat the first line of the Apostles Creed instead. If you still find yourself struggling, ask God to increase your trust in Him. Before you know it, your problems will seem a lot less frightening. Give it a try and see what happens. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

Rise, And Do Not Be Afraid!

Catholic speaker and author Gary Zimak offers advice for overcoming fear and anxiety

Today we celebrate the feast of the Transfiguration. The gospel from today’s Mass contains a powerful message for any of us who may be tempted to give into our fears and begin worrying. Peter, James and John had just witnessed a glimpse of Heaven. It was now time for them to get up, descend from the mountain and deal with some very difficult problems. As can be expected, they didn’t want to leave. That’s the challenge that we face every day, my friends. It’s important that we make time to speak to Jesus throughout the day, but it’s also important to remember His words when that time is over and we have to face the difficulties of our daily lives. Relax…He’s right there with you!

But Jesus came and touched them, saying, ?Rise, and do not be afraid.? (Matthew 17:17)

Be Not Afraid…To Homeschool!

Catholic speaker and author Gary Zimak talks about the anxiety associated with homeschooling

When Eileen and I first decided to homeschool our daughters, I have to admit that we were frightened. Although we were nervous, however, we moved forward because we felt that God was calling us to do it. After completing three years as homeschooling parents (I’m the Religion teacher!), we realize that it’s one of the best things we ever did. Homeschooling is not only providing Mary and Elizabeth with a great education, but has drawn us closer as a family and closer to the Lord.

Here’s the “Be Not Afraid…To Homeschool” talk that I recently presented at a homeschooling conference in New Jersey. Whether you’re dealing with homeschooling worries or anxiety in general, this theme of this talk will help you to experience peace in your life. Nothing that happens in your life comes as a surprise to the Lord. Everything (good and bad) is designed to help you get to Heaven. Best of all, He will NEVER abandon you…

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it!

Please contact me if you would like me to deliver this talk (or any of my talks) at your parish or conference!

The Silliest Thing I Ever Worried About…

Catholic Speaker and author Gary Zimak discusses the silliest thing he ever worried about

Here’s the interview that I discussed on my radio program this evening. My thanks to Heidi Bock for allowing me to be interviewed for her blog. I also have to hand it to her for asking me a question that I’ve never been asked before – “What’s the silliest thing you ever worried about?”

Think you can top me? Feel free to leave a comment!

My Journey From Fear To Faith

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down for an interview with Abby Fisher on the local TV program Counterpoint. We discussed my background as a lifelong worrier, how the Lord has helped me to overcome my anxiety and my mission to bring the peace of Christ to those in need. If you’re someone who worries, I can assure you that there is hope. As you grow closer to the Lord, your fears will decrease and you’ll experience his peace. Jesus really is the answer, my friends.

Please contact me, if you’d like to invite me to share my story at your parish or conference.

God Has Something That He Wants You To Do…

Catholic Speaker and Author Gary Zimak with a reminder that God has a plan for you

“There is some task which, if you do not do it in life, will never be done without you.” (Fr. James Keller, founder of The Christophers)

Today would be a good day to ask the Lord for guidance. As Jesus reminds us, we know “neither the day nor the hour” (Matthew 25:13).

Don’t let your task go undone!

The Greatest Offer You’ll Ever Receive…

Catholic speaker and author Gary Zimak invites readers to come closer to Jesus

Jesus said:

?Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.? (Matthew 11:28-30)

What is your response? What do you have to lose? Just your worries, sadness, hopelessness and loneliness. Today’s the day to accept the Lord’s offer and move closer to Him, my friends. I plan to do it. How about you?

I Stopped Worrying And You Can Too! Let Me Share My Secret…

Catholic Speaker Gary Zimak instructing a parish audience on how to overcome anxiety

Are you tired of worrying? There is hope! In conjunction with the release of my latest book, From Fear To Faith: A Worrier’s Guide To Discovering Peace, I am now scheduling speaking engagements for 2015 and beyond. I’d be honored to visit your parish or conference and share the method that has helped me to break free from my lifelong worrying habit. My calendar is rapidly filling up, so please contact me today in order to lock in your desired dates.

Here are a few endorsements from people who have heard me speak:

“Catholic speakers don?t usually make me laugh. If they do, they don?t make me think or help me grow in my relationship with Christ. Gary Zimak does both? and more. His unique way of mixing humor with profound insights into the Faith has helped me to go deeper into the mysteries of the Catholic Church.”

Patrick Novecosky
Editor-In-Chief, Legatus magazine

“Gary is a brilliant, insightful, and engaging speaker. His talk at the Catholic Leadership Conference was thoroughly enjoyable and memorable, and his splendid sense of humor caught me completely off guard. I highly recommend Gary as a speaker for any event.”

Kevin Lowry
Chief Operating Officer, Coming Home Network International

“Gary Zimak?s deep faith and light-hearted approach makes him the perfect evangelist for the every-man of today. His gentle soul and self-deprecating humor allow him to connect with people so that his reminder of the Gospel message, ?be not afraid? is warmly received and easily believed by those who are blessed to hear him speak.”

Elizabeth Westhoff
Director of Marketing and Mission Awareness, Archdiocese of St. Louis

“Gary was the guest speaker at our March, 2014 Martinus of Northern Michigan (Catholic Business Organization similar to Legatus) chapter event at which he presented his talk titled, ?Pray, Hope and Don?t Worry?. The response received from our membership was enthusiastically and genuinely positive. It is with the greatest confidence that I would endorse Gary Zimak for your consideration as a guest speaker at an upcoming Parish Mission, conference, or other Catholic community event.”

Wayne Sterenberg
Program Chair, Martinus of Northern Michigan

“We invited Gary to speak to more than 130 women of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Westfield, Indiana for the 18th Annual Ladies Candlelight Dinner sponsored by our Altar Rosary Society. We couldn?t have been more pleased. Gary?s topic of ?Pray, Hope, and Don?t Worry? was a perfect fit for the women in attendance. He opened our eyes to using our Faith to deal with the anxiety we experience in our day to day lives. His use of scripture and humor was the perfect combination to reach the women of our Parish. We were blessed to have Gary attend our event and recommend him as a speaker for any parish event.”

Adena Vaughn and Laura DuVall
Co-Chairs, Ladies Candlelight Dinner, St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church (Westfield, IN)

“Gary Zimak is an outstanding speaker. He speaks at the ?level of the people? without watering-down the teachings of Scriptures and the Church. Having served as a pastor of a parish struggling with a merger and closing of a school, my parishioners found his message refreshing and uplifting ? reminding us of God?s Divine Providence and presence in all the events of life. I have also known Gary personally for many years. He is a prayerful father and husband and a faithful witness of the Gospel. I highly recommend Gary to any pastor or church community wishing to hear the message of the Gospel and how it applies to the dealings of everyday life.”

Fr. Allain Caparas
Director of Catholic Identity, Gloucester Catholic High School (Gloucester City, NJ)
