Looking For A Life Changing Experience? Try Total Consecration!

The word “life changing” gets used quite a bit these days. As one would expect, it relates to an experience that changes one’s life. There are different degrees of such experiences, however, some of which are more important than others. As Christians, the ultimate life changing experience is one that will bring us closer to the Lord and help us to get to Heaven. It doesn’t get more important than that! Total Consecration To Jesus Through Mary (popularized by St. Louis de Montfort in the 18th century) is such an experience. It WILL change your life!

Beginning on September 4th, I’ll once again be leading Total Consecration To Jesus Through Mary on my daily BlogTalkRadio show. This year, I’m thrilled that we’ll be using the acclaimed book 33 Days To Morning Glory by Fr. Michael Gaitley as the basis for our 33 day preparation. Even better is that you can order a FREE copy of the book (if you live in the US or Canada)!

What exactly is Total (or Marian) consecration? According to Fr. Gaitley, Marian consecration means “giving Mary our full permission to complete her motherly task in us, which is to form us into other Christs”. The preparation period will involve 33 days of meditation and prayer, based on the spirituality of St. Louis de Montfort, St. Maximillian Kolbe, Blessed Mother Teresa and Blessed Pope John Paul II. After making our way through the preparation phase we will then make (or renew) or Total Consecration To Jesus Through Mary on October 7th, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.

Why should you consecrate your life to Jesus through Mary? Here are a few reasons…

“The more we honor the Blessed Virgin, the more we honor Jesus Christ, because we honor Mary only that we may more perfectly honor Jesus, since we go to her only as the way by which we are to find the end we are seeking, which is Jesus.” (Saint Louis de Montfort)

“There is no surer or easier way than Mary in uniting all men with Christ.” (Pope St. Pius X)

“We are convinced without any doubt that devotion to Our Lady is essentially joined with devotion to Christ.” (Pope Paul VI)

Please note that the offer of a free kit applies only to residents of the US or Canada.

STEP 3 (Tune in to the Following The Truth radio program beginning on September 2)

Although the actual 33 day preparation period begins on Wednesday, September 4th, I’ll spend the Monday and Tuesday of that week discussing Total Consecration and providing more information about the process. I’ve led over 1,000 people through Total Consecration over the past 2 years and I’m looking for another big year in 2013. Whether you’re renewing your consecration (like me) or making it for the first time, we’ll walk together over the 33 day preparation period. In addition to my nightly radio show, I’ll be available by email to answer your questions and/or encourage you.

So, get ready and be prepared for your life to change in some BIG ways. Jesus is waiting to get to know you better and Mary is ready to take you by the hand and lead you to Him!

  1. Gary,
Heard you on Morning Air this morning. Am signed up for Total Consecration starting September 4. Please help because I don’t know how to get to the link to listen to your radio blog when the time comes. It is probably very simple but my mind can’t figure it out. Thank you!

    Gary,

I have signed up for the Total Consecration. Will we need to listen to your Radio Show every night/Monday – Friday?

    Thanks
    Pris

    • Gary Zimak says:

      Hi Pris,

Although it’s recommended that you listen to my show each night, it’s not mandatory. I offer little insights and words of encouragement that may help you to get through some of the difficulties that go along with a 33 day preparation period. I definitely recommend that you sign up for the email list, however, as my weekly emails will be helpful.

      God Bless,
      Gary

      Hi Elizabeth,

Even though it is not specifically mentioned, the folks at My Consecration will send you the 33 Days To Morning Glory book along with your kit. They recently switched to this book from another book.

      God Bless,
      Gary

  6. Bernadette Porter says:

Hi – I have helped others follow the steps of St. Louis deMontfort in the 33 day preparation and have also read this book that you are promoting “33 Days to Morning Glory” – This book is excellent in getting one to understand WHY the Consecration but it is not the preparation. The preparation prescribed by St. Louis is comprised 1st divest oneself of the world, knowing oneself, study of who Christ is and then the study of Mary. These 4 “weekly” steps are critical to making the consecration properly and using his consecration prayer. I highly recommend “The Echo of God” by Fr. Lance Harlow – it is a study guide of St. Louis’ True Devotion to Mary (available on Amazon) and is excellent and true to St. Louis’ directions. This “33 Days to Morning Glory” is about 4 saints who have done the consecration and is a GREAT motivator but not a preparation. Hope this is helpful. God bless -(I will sign up just to see how you make this book into a preparation. )

      Hi Bernadette,

I have led the Total Consecration for the past 2 years (on my show) using the books supplied by the Monfortian Fathers. I plan to work some of those principles into my nightly teaching.

      God Bless,
      Gary

Years ago I tried reading St Louis de Montfort’s ‘Total Consecration” but I felt lacking in something. I hope to do better this time !

    • Gary Zimak says:

      Hi Jim,

It can be a challenging read and that’s one of the reasons that I developed this method. It has helped a lot of people to get through the 33 day preparation period. Glad you’re joining us and please let me know if you have any questions.

      God Bless,
      Gary

  9. Tricia says:

    Hi Gary,

I just signed up for the Total Consecration to Mary, but am not receiving the email back to verify. Wondering if I?m doing something wrong?

Also, I am a little late in signing up, so my book may not be here by Sept. 4th. What should I do for the first few days until it comes? Is there a web-site where I can read what the first few days entail?

    Thanks, Tricia

    • Gary Zimak says:

      Hi Tricia,

If you (or anyone else) does not receive the confirmation reply email, first check your SPAM folder to make sure it didn’t end up there. If you still don’t see anything, please send me an email (gary@followingthetruth.com) with the following message:

“Please add me to your Total Consecration mailing list. I did not receive the confirmation email.”

I can then forward your email to Vertical Response (who handles my email list). This step is necessary in order to comply with anti-SPAM regulations. They need to verify that you really desire to be on the list.

      God Bless,
      Gary

  10. Bill says:

could you give an estimate as to the daily time required. i would not want to start something that will be impossible to finish.

    • Gary Zimak says:

      Hi Bill,

Good question! I would say that the meditations will probably take 20-30 minutes per day. If you have the desire to make your Total Consecration, I would encourage you to do it. Don’t be afraid that you won’t have the time. The fact that you attempt it will please Jesus and Mary immensely. St. Louis de Montfort (who popularized this devotion) even stated that the 33 days isn’t mandatory, but that it’s recommended. Even if you have to miss a day or two, I wouldn’t quit. Consecrating your life in this way will provide many graces and is something that I HIGHLY recommend!

      God Bless,
      Gary

Hello, I am currently a member of the Rosary Confraternity (approximately 3 years now) and just signed up. How do I sign up for your e-mails?

  12. Maria says:

I did the consecration many years ago. Can I do it again? Would it be more of a renewal? Thanks!

  13. Mary Erceg says:

I just signed up for the total consecration, I don’t know everything in the “kit” you offer but I do not need the “33 Day of Morning Glory”, I already have a copy.
I did not listen to the radio broadcast the past two days but I just finished reading “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin” by St Louis de Montfort and am ready to make this consecration.
If there is a way to re-listen to your broadcast, let me know.
    Thanks,
    Mary E
