“He is not here; for He has risen, as He said.” (Matthew 28:6)
The words of the angel to the women at the tomb remind us of an important, but often forgotten fact – Jesus is a man of His word. He said He would rise from the dead and and that’s what He did!
Today, as we celebrate Easter Sunday, we reflect on the ultimate example of Jesus keeping His promises. Tomorrow and the next day might be another story, however. The struggles and problems of daily life have a way of making us lose sight of the fact that the Lord is always good for His word. As Christians, let’s try to do our best to live as Easter people not just today, but throughout the year. He said He would rise and He did. He said He is preparing a place for us in Heaven and He is. We generally have no problem believing these promises, especially today. On the other hand, He also asks us to seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and our Heavenly Father will provide for our material needs. Do you believe Him?
Jesus IS risen. Have a blessed Easter. Alleluia!
“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well.” (Matthew 6:33)
