Last night, I had the pleasure of attending a reception for Good Counsel Homes, an organization that provides shelter for homeless pregnant women. Founded in 1985 by Chris Bell and Fr. Benedict Groeschel, Good Counsel currently runs 5 homes in the New York City area and is hoping to open one in South Jersey.
I was honored to meet Mr. Bell, whose passion for the pro-life cause is contagious. He told story after story of unmarried pregnant women who were shunned by their families and told to abort their unborn children. Good Counsel Homes takes these women in and gives them an alternative to abortion. Countless children are alive today due to their efforts.
