Give Up Worry for Good Week 6, Day 6

As a deer longs for flowing streams, so longs my soul for thee, O God. (Psalm 42:1)

I spent many years searching for peace and happiness, never realizing that I was actually looking for God.

Here’s what I wrote in Give Up Worry For Good

What were you looking for when you decided to pick up this book? I would expect that “peace” would be the most popular answer. You may have worded it differently (desire to stop worrying, freedom from anxiety, etc.), but the overall goal is the same. Would you be surprised to learn that your desire for peace is actually a quest for something much larger? When we seek peace, we are in reality seeking God. It’s such a basic need that we often don’t realize it. As our relationship with the Lord grows, so does our peace.

Jesus walks with us every day, ready and willing to lead us to a deeper relationship with our Heavenly Father. Not only He the only way to the Father, but He’s the only way to the peace we seek. That’s what Give Up Worry For Good is all about. I’m grateful to have you on the journey with me. The finish line is coming into view. Keep your eye on the prize. We’re almost there.

Let not your heart be troubled!
